I'm not sure how I've missed this place, since it's conveniently located right off Barlow and 27th Ave, but I'm glad to finally check it out. Toad N Turtle is a pretty big place, with an awesome rooftop patio, big bar area and separate section with standard tables for your big groups.
The service was unlike any I've had in awhile and even as the place filled up for Wing Wednesday, stayed consistent and pleasant. I started with a pint of Grasshopper and an order of the Kinda Hot and Sweet Chili Garlic, the later being one that I've not yet come across. Both the brew and wings came out quickly, and that's when I was really impressed. Big plump wings, hot from the heart clogging deep fryers and slathered in saucy goodness. The Kinda Hot were just that, kinda hot - but not much kick to them. The Sweet Chili Garlic were covered in garlic bits and a light saucy that was delicious.
The pub started to get pretty busy but it seemed like they had more than enough staff and everyone dig right in. After devouring the first batch, I decided to try the Peanut Thai, since it's not one that I come across very often. While the second batch took marginally longer than the first to arrive, they were still good and hot. Big, plump wings with a great peanut buttery taste with a Thai kicker.
TnT's seems to have all you need for a good pub experience with all the amenities a crowd would want, good seating, service and a hot wing that won't leave you hungry. Try it out and let me know what you think.
