Good plumpness and juiciness. My girlfriend sat there as I devoured a pound of hot. They were decent.
Unlike previous comments, wings were hot, not soggy, and sans gelatinous layer.
Would have preferred more sauce. The hot flavour made me sweat.
look forward to trying more flavours.
The Kilkenny is my absolute favourite place for wings! My boyfriend and I have been going there for years, we take all our friends and family there, and we haven't been disappointed yet.
For the amount of times we've been there, they've only screwed up our order once (gave us teriyaki instead of honey garlic- they look about the same, and they're both pretty good. No harm done.) and I don't think the wings have ever been cold. I've gotten the odd wing that has too much fat on part of it, but that's the chickens fault ;) They're always huge and juicy (and I really like the little crunch you get before hitting the juicy meat. Maybe from being deep fried? I dunno, but I crave it somedays!)
The saucy ones are always completely slathered, unless it's the mild or medium wings, in which case they're seasoned accordingly.
The service is good, considering how many people are there on a Monday night! The servers are usually quite friendly, and the price is fantastic. You do have to wave them down sometimes.
My favourite flavours are honey garlic and medium- the honey garlic is honey sauce with garlic chunks in it. YUM! I find the teriyaki and BBQ to be too tangy (although the BBQ is my bfs fav) but still very good!
The only thing I guess I really don't like is how it's cash only. But that's not a big deal!
The bathrooms are clean, modern, and they smell good.
Great for big groups, great atmosphere, and great SCHOONERS!!! Did I mention it's ridiculously easy to get to, right next to a train station with a ton of buses, and big parking lots all around it?
And to be honest, I don't much care how or when they were made, as long as they taste good, and won't make me sick! I'm not going to a pub to eat wings and drink beer so I can worry about my figure... I'm there to enjoy myself!
Agree with comment below, i believe these wings were bought pre-cooked flash frozen then brought to life through some defrosting technique that leaves a glutinous membrane between the battered layer and the meal. Then flash fried for heat then seasoning, Sound unappetizing well it was. Not sure if this is the usual MO for this establashment.
The only highlight would be the excellent service and $7.99 scooners on Mondays
The wings were cooked before we even decided to go out for wings!
We sat down and ordered our drinks, and our wings came before our drinks! and weren't very hot, sauggy (clearly sitting out for a while)
dont go - not worth yuor time or money
service was ok. wing were not good... unless you like tons of breading on the wings which is basically all you can eat.. next thing you know your already full from it.. BBQ flavour was not good so is the lemon pepper.
